Why do you get out of bed every morning to go to work?

The most common response is of course money. But money is a result of your work.

Why should people do business with you?

There are numerous other places that have the same product/service you have at very competitive price points.

Why should talented people work at your company?

There are numerous other places they can go work and perform the same tasks for a very competitive wage.

The answer to those questions is simple; they buy YOU and not what you do.

This is exactly why Apple is the behemoth it is, they focus on why they are in business, “to challenge the status quo” and people respond to them like no other company.

When you achieve this level of clarity you begin to hear things like, “I just had a gut feeling” or “I would never go anywhere else.”

Creating a loyal client base is like having the keys to the kingdom. You no longer stress about prices, getting new business or hoping the latest promotion works.

You are free from the market manipulation your competitors are forced to use because they focus on their WHAT, their product/service, and not WHY they are in business.

Remember people respond to people much more powerfully than they do a product or service. A product or service is just a symbol of a person’s lifestyle. It’s just a thing. It’s not a cause or a belief.

Of course you actually have to be good at what you do, that is definitely a piece of the puzzle. I don’t want to make it sound like its not. But it’s only a piece and it’s not the biggest piece.
